Biographie :
Brandy Norwood est née en 1979 à Mc Comb dans le Missouri. Elle commence à chanter dès l'âge de 4 ans en se prenant pour une star chez elle avec sa brosse à cheveux et rapidement prend le chemin de l'église pour chanter le gospel. Malgré son jeune âge, elle montre une détermination hallucinante pour devenir chanteuse professionnelle. A 11 ans, elle réalise son premier single. Même si la chanson est sa priorité, elle fait ses réels débuts à la télévision, en jouant dans des sitcoms. Théa, diffusée sur ABC, ne fera d'ailleurs pas long feu, véhiculant une image trop "noire" ne correspondant pas avec celle de la chaîne! ou Moesha cartonne aux Etats-Unis. 1994: I Wanna Be Down, son premier single diffusé est un succès. Brandy prouve aux Américains qu'une jeune adolescente noire peut faire danser tous les teenagers. Un music award, deux nominations aux Grammy, son album certifié trois fois platine, Brandy acquiert la notoriété. Arrivée en France explosive en 1998 avec le single The Boy Is Mine, en duo avec Monica. L'album Never Say Never suit avec un second single Top Of the World en duo avec Mase. Au printemps 2002, Brandy sort un nouvel opus intitulé Full Moon. Juin 2004: l'artiste revient avec Afrodisiac. En mai 2005, la chanteuse nous offre une compilation de ses meilleurs titres en sortant The Best of un album incluant, entre autres, un remix de son titre I wanna be down revisité par Queen Latifah et Mc Lyte.
